Party Of Five 7

Co-owners and married couple Dominique Billings and Radreckia Allen-Billings say their hospitality business is proof dreams do come true. Friends since 8th grade, the entrepreneurial couple grew up in low-income neighborhoods in south Atlanta. While Radreckia says she graduated from school and found a good job in radiology technology, Dominique dropped out and worked as a truck driver. Growing up, he says he often found himself surrounded by gun violence and drugs, and as a kid of a single parent he found that school lunch was often his last meal of the day. Today, he is dedicated to feeding other kids from his community who may not have access to good, quality, and nourishing food.

The Billings had no prior experience in the restaurant industry, just a strong desire to feed at-risk youth. They say they took a leap of faith in 2020 to open their first fast casual MetroWest catering business, through which they could serve to-go meals. To better reach the communities, they added a food truck where they could cook and serve fresh food on the spot. They took the truck to community centers and parks where they would feed hundreds of kids at a time. Soon other trucks serving grilled cheese, ice cream and funnel cakes joined in, and at a recent event at East Point Parks and Recs off Virginia Avenue, over 600 kids got fed. Today, the MetroWest truck is regular at corporate and private events by day, while serving youth, for free, in all their spare hours. You can find the location of their food truck by following po5atl on social media.

The Billings also took their truck on a free fish fry tour. Their goal: to reach out to kids at summer camps and feed at least 200 kids at each stop. Redefining mobile dining and creating a gathering space where neighbors can connect has brought the Billings back to their roots. They say they are especially dedicated to making holidays special for those who can’t afford to, by putting together giveaways of flowers, facials and brunches for single mothers on Mother’s Day, and family dinners for Thanksgiving, among other giveaways throughout the year. Can’t afford a fancy meal? The Billings say Party of 5 offers $10 specials to kids after school.

The full service dine-in restaurant – Party of 5 by MetroWest is named after their family of 5. Expect to find all members of the Billings family, including their children helping with food deliveries, inventory, and busing tables.

Party Of 5 Carrot Cake Waffles With Chicken 12

When you go, try the Belgian-style carrot cake waffles with crushed pecans, salmon croquette breakfast with scrambled eggs or crispy fried catfish and grits for brunch (offered Wednesday-Sunday). For substantial dinner, some favorites are the made-from-scratch blackened chicken alfredo, fried red snapper with beans and rice, and the grilled lamb chops with creamy garlic mashed potatoes, all paired with crafted cocktails. All of the recipes are based on what the family eats at home.

With a rotating menu crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, Party of 5 not only highlights the South’s culinary creativity but also supports local farmers and suppliers. Through their efforts, the Billings say they are helping uplift other business in the community and bringing more discerning diners to the South side of town. Just go and find out what the buzz is about!
